Greg Stalinski from the Privacy Rights Education Project (PREP) discussed a postcard campaign co-sponsored by PREP and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force to support the federal gay and lesbian civil rights bill. The bill, introduced annually for 15 years, aims to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 1989 to include sexual orientation. The House bill, sponsored by Congressman Wise with 74 co-sponsors, and the Senate bill, sponsored by Alan Cranston with eight co-sponsors, prohibit discrimination in housing, employment, public accommodations, and federally-assisted programs. Postcards are available at local St. Louis businesses and by contacting PREP.
