Homosexuality Aggravated by Big Families with Older Boys
The Universe throws the Mormons and the Catholics
a nasty curve.
Thank God for science. It often makes us rethink
the common sense positions that we take. For example, no one on the planet can
have avoided hearing the many loud voices condemning homosexuality as a sinful
choice of lifestyle.
Now a researcher
in Canada, Anthony Bogaert, of Brock
University in Ontario, looked at gay men who had not been raised with their
elder brothers, but still found that there was a link between homosexuality and
the number of elder male siblings they had. Bogaert earlier helped to discover
the link between homosexuality and elder male siblings. The exact reason for
this finding is not yet clear, but according to The Independent Online, "The
explanation could be the "maternal immunisation" hypothesis, which suggests that
mothers may produce antibodies against a male foetus's Y chromosome while in the
womb, and that these antibodies have an accumulative effect on subsequent
pregnancies, which could affect the sexuality of
boys."
Whatever the
reason, it appears that citizens who have a distaste for homosexuality and don't
want to have it in their family could lower their chances for this occurrence by
limiting the number of children they have to just two. After the first male
child is born into a family, it appears that the chances of having a homosexual
son increases about 3% for every additional male child born into that same
family. Avoiding large families might additionally help the world to stabilize
population size, which is a major factor in several contemporary environmental
problems.
Of course,
there are those who will scoff at these results and this reasoning and continue
to grow large families. We intend to welcome into the world both the gay and the
straight sons that result.
