Girl upset at gay session

By Nancy Stanfill
For the Alestle

That upset girl who was yelling at the Gay minister - who is she? She is 18-year-old Becey Flannigan of Granite City.
That upset girl with the short red hair and small eyes will be recognized as the one who spouted fire and brimstone in the Goshen Lounge on Monday, where four active members of the Gay community participated in a panel discussion.
Her anger apparently stemmed from her disapproval of Gays as Christians. “(Homosexuality) is abominable to the Lord,” she said.
Flanagan belongs to a group of Charismatic Christians and says she was “saved“only last week. “I was lost in the Lord until I found the truth,“ she said. “If my views come off a little shaky, it’s because I haven’t had time to set my stakes to grow in the Lord.“
Her face will be remembered by its obvious absence of make up. Her facial expressions were strained and tight while she argued with members of the Gay panel.
“I was so upset because I knew the end is close at hand when people’s ways of thinking are twisted around,” she said.
Flanagan said that Jesus is love, acceptance and forgiveness for all humans. And yet, she said God could not accept homosexuals, therefore, neither could she. It was pointed out to Miss Flanagan that these two views are contradictory.
She replied, “You’d have to read the whole Bible to get the concept. God didn’t create homosexuals, Satan did.“
Flanagan also said, “All these people who don’t comply with God, those who stray, are in judgment of the Lord.”
Rev. Crouch remained cool while his lifestyle was attacked by Miss Flanagan. “God makes us all and loves us all,” he said.
Flanagan continued her verbal assault on homosexuality. “Homosexuals are ‘unscriptural’,“ she judged.
“Only God will condemn us in the end. Please accept us as individuals in Jesus Christ,“ Rev. Crouch requested.
That upset girl shook her head and remarked, “That man (Rev.Crouch) is lost.“
