To whom it may concern:

This is to inform you that the two usual moderators of the program Gay Talk will not be available for some time. Byron Davidson is acutely ill, and I simply must take some time this summer to rest.

I would rather that old tapes not continue to be played as this may be harmful to the program's image, expecially since many of the excellent tapes from the
past year have been lost or erased.

I would hope that Gay Talk could continue later in the summer, but arrangements must be made to be sure that good shows are kept on file. It is getting more difficult to find open people who are willing to talk on the program.

Should you decide to discontinue the program, I appreciate the opportunity that KADI has provided. Perhaps the hotline (367-0084) would have suggestions about an interim moderator. I have also enclosed addresses of appropriate organizations. Otherwise, I'll see you in late summer.

Dear Jim:

Thank you for your letter concerning your and Byron's situation this summer as moderators of "GayTalk." I appreciate the contacts you sent and you might be interested to know that an interim moderator has been found. Jim Fleming of Dignity St. Louis came into the studios yesterday to learn more about the program and it sounds as though he's anxious to start working on the show.

We're sorry to hear arout Byron's illness. Please give him our wishes for a quick recovery. When you feel you are ready to resume as moderator, please give me a call.
