In Michigan

Lyrics

I.

In Michigan you'll see a view
Where the water's blue, and the sky is, too,
And the trees are green, and the lakes are clean
Up in Michigan.

In Michigan, oh, the air smells sweet,
The grass is soft underneath your feet,
And the dimples on the water glint
Up in Michigan.

There's a patch of cotton clouds,
And segulls hover in the air.
The sun has warmed the beach;
The wind is playing in your hair.
You're away from all the crowds
And living life without a care
Up in Michigan, in Michigan.

In Michigan the air is cool,
And pines and birch trees are the rule.
So if I had just one wish, I'd go to stay
In Michigan at the top of the U. S. A.

II.

At Mackinack there's so much to see,
Where history lives for you and me.
There's a fort atop a cliff
On the Isle of Mackinack.

At Mackinack there's a ferry huge
That will pick you up and carry you
To a harbor lined with docks and boats,
That's Mackinack.

You can hire a horse-drawn carriage
For a round-the-island-ride.
You will pass the Grand Hotel
They say's three football stadiums wide.
Where folks can start their marriage
Looking at the other side
Of the Straights of Mackinack, of Mackinack.

On Mackinack there are shops so neat
With a famous fudge that is dark and sweet
And the streets are filled with the smell of oats and hay.
On Mackinack at the top of the U. S. A.
