The
world is full of people
© 1983 by Jim Andris
Oh, the world is full of people;
Yes, the world is full of people.
Some are white and some are brown;
Some are country, some are town;
Some will smile and some will frown today.
Yes, the world is full of people,
Extraordinary people.
Some see mountain, some see shore;
Some are rich and some are poor;
Some want less, and others, more each day.
All these people in the world are living
In a time the likes of which we've never seen,
For this Earth of ours just cannot keep on giving
Without help from us to keep her fresh and clean.
Oh, the world is full of people—
People, people and more people.
One sings songs; one digs a ditch;
One is poor, the other rich,
And I don't know which is which today.
But I do know that we're all in this together.
Someone told us that a long, long time ago.
And if we want to, we can share this earth forever
With clouds of white above, and ocean blue below.
Look around at all the people.
Just reach out to all the people—
Men and women, colors all,
Live in countries big and small.
We must learn to love them all someday.
