There was once a time when countries fought to resolve their conflicts

A time when people could afford to fill their hearts with hate,
But the playground bully's had his day, and he hasn't proved his worth.
I propose a new alternative: The United States of Earth!

But a planet federation doesn't take away our rights;
It provides a peaceful way to settle international fights.

As the citizenry of the U.S.E. we'll assist in a New World's birth.
And we'll sail through space together as The United States of Earth.
Now you say you fear the Russians so we can't afford a freeze,
And you'd rather not be bothered with inscrutable Chinese.
Do you think the eastern pesant wants to trade a peaceful life
For the agony and suffering of this planetary strife?
No, friend, I guarantee it's not the people of the world
Who choose to keep our planet's nations' battleflags unfurled.
It's oppressive ideology that creates this war-like stance.
Yet we're standing on the threshhold of a wonderful advance:

If we work for peace with fervor, we can show what we are worth
