What is a friend?
A friend is on your side.
When you have a friend,
There's nothing you need hide.
For you and your friend
Can face the worst the world can throw you,
No one else can know you
Quite as well as one true friend.
When you're alone, he comes knocking at your door.
Then you don't feel so lonely anymore.
And through the tears, a smile begins to form.
He takes the cold in your heart and gently makes it warm.
Jesus is your friend,
And He is on your side.
With Jesus as your friend,
There's nothing you need hide.
For you and this Friend
Can face the worst that Satan shoves you
No one else can love you
Quite as much as this true friend.
