It Takes a Long, Long Time

(To the tune of "It Takes a Long, Long Time.")
Test it once, and test it twice, and test it once again,
It takes a long, long time.
Value judgments made like this can lead you into sin,
It takes a long, long time.
Oh, we must not partition reason from the senses.
But use it to find leading consequences.
When we think that man is modeled after Rin Tin Tin.
It takes a long, long time.
(Whistle the tune slowly.)
It takes a long, long time.
(Whistle the tune again slowly.)
It takes a long, long time.
So I accepted Dewey's theory just to test it,
And it has consequences, though we might have guessed it.
I haven't solved a problem now since can't remember when,
It takes a long,
long time.
