In
the closet

In the closet.
Well, I didn't cause it,
But I'm gonna cause it to stop.
Take my place
With the whole human race
Standing along at the top.
Well, I stood in the sun today
And you know it felt so good.
Hell, I would have begun to pray
If I only thought I could.
Oh, why did I wait
In the shade of their hate
While they laughed?
Now it's time to melt their golden calf.
Yes, in the closet.
You better take pause; it's
Not too good—smelling of matches and wax.
Join the fight
To stand in the light
Free all the people with facts.
Facts about our capacity
For love and hope.
With acts that are out there for all to see.
We need not grope alone.
Oh, come, take my hand
And together we'll stand
In the light.
Understanding makes the day from night.
