We've been together now for quite some time,
The time has come for me to say,
Regardless of the reason or the rhyme,
The time has come for you to stay.
I see the way you love me daily
And in the dark of night I know
That we can stay the way we are together now,
That we can hold this lovely glow.
And I'm not saying there won't be sorrow.
What's good today may not be there tomorrow,
But you and I, we seem to stand for truth and right,
And most of all, I think we've found the light.
So won't you quietly come with me
Into the corners of my life,
And since you are my lover and my friend,
I'll ask you now to be my wife.
