She's the girl who created my honor

© 1971 by Jim Andris

She's the girl who created my honor,
She's the woman who lifted my pride,
And the glory upon her makes men stand straight by her side.

To have such a girl is to loose her,
Yet to need her is like a great thirst.
You cannot have this girl 'til you use her
And abuse the great right to be first.

The girl of my mind
Is a girl who is blind to all comers on.
And dreams can come true
But it seems when they do that they're lost and gone.

So I sit here and sing to the silence
Of a memory shrouded in black,
And my passion has risen to violence
For I know that she's not coming back.
