Snowflakes

Snowflakes are excellend foci for daydreams.
I sit at my third-story window and gaze.
Your love made my self-laden ego emerge
Like the landscape, veneered with a crystalline blaze.
How sad that fate needed to end our endeavor,
To steal from my soul this incredible glow,
But the earth and the ego abideth forever
Impotent to capture that first fall of snow.
