I only wrote one song for Jonathon. It's not one of my best, but it marks the start of my career as an gay-identified song writer. I want you to hear it.

Give him a name that he'll be proud of,
Give him the hope to hold his head up high,
And give him the love and the fortune
that should be allowed to everyone
for a time before they die.
Give him the right to choose his feelings.
Give him the faith to feel his choice is right.
And give him a scorn for arbitrary ceilings
that distract him from his flight.
He's not a man until he's free,
Until he's what he wants to be.
Until he says, "I'm proud of me,"
He's not the best that he could be.
Show him the path that leads up to your mountain.
Give him the tools that will help him play your game.
And if he seems to be doing badly,
Remember: Everybody's fountain's not the same.
