Beautiful Planet

written by Jim Andrisse, 1982

We have a beautiful planet.
Everything we need is here:
The sun in the blue sky above us,
Bare feet in green grass down here.
Purple mountainsides over rolling hills,
Lakes reflecting willows and daffodils.
How they fill my eyes and satisfy my soul.

All of the folks on this planet
Come from a union of love.
Some folks just don't realize this.
What can they be thinking of
When there's rustling leaves,
Bright red, singing cardinals,
Children laughing in my back yard?
How they fill my ears and satisfy my soul.

So while you live on this planet
Do this one thing if you will.
Just take what you need, and remember
To leave it more beautiful still.
It can be the way it was meant to be:
People living in perfect harmony.
How they fill my heart and satisfy my soul.

We have a beautiful planet.
Everything we need is here:
The light fills the blue sky around us
And bare feet in green grass down here,
Bare feet in green grass down here.
